The Diplôme d’Études Supérieures Universitaires (DESU) in Economic Law is a business law program designed to provide advanced expertise in innovative areas of economic law, while enhancing students’ mastery of legal English. It is taught entirely in English by a distinguished faculty of French and international academics and practitioners.
The curriculum covers a wide range of subjects, including contract law, arbitration, competition law, consumer law, environmental law, compliance, anti-corruption and anti-money laundering, mergers & acquisitions, economic analysis of law, international transport law, and cross-border dispute resolution.
One of the program’s key features is its international dimension, offering students opportunities to apply for direct admission to partner American law schools (Louisiana State University, Chicago-Kent College of Law, Maurer School of Law – Bloomington) with significantly reduced tuition fees for selected candidates.
The program is delivered on campus in Aix-en-Provence, in a multicultural environment fostering interaction between French and international students, as well as between academia and the legal profession.
Applications are open until mid-September, with seminars starting in October. Applicants must hold at least a Bachelor’s degree in Law (or equivalent) and demonstrate a good command of English. The application file must include a CV in French, a motivation letter in English, and official academic transcripts, to be sent to Mrs. Pauline Gaborit (Institut de Droit des Affaires).

Le Diplôme d’Études Supérieures Universitaires (DESU) Economic Law est une formation de droit des affaires conçue pour développer une expertise approfondie dans les domaines innovants du droit économique, tout en renforçant la maîtrise de l’anglais juridique. Ce programme est dispensé intégralement en langue anglaise par un corps professoral composé d’universitaires et de praticiens français et étrangers de haut niveau.
Les enseignements couvrent un large éventail de matières : droit des contrats, arbitrage, droit de la concurrence, droit de la consommation, droit de l’environnement, compliance, lutte contre la corruption et le blanchiment, fusions-acquisitions, analyse économique du droit, droit du transport international, et résolution internationale des litiges.
L’un des objectifs majeurs du programme est d’offrir aux étudiants des perspectives internationales, notamment grâce à des passerelles vers certaines facultés de droit américaines partenaires (Louisiana State University, Chicago-Kent College of Law, Maurer School of Law – Bloomington) avec des frais de scolarité réduits pour les candidats retenus.
La formation se déroule en présentiel à Aix-en-Provence, dans un environnement multiculturel favorisant les échanges entre étudiants français et étrangers, et entre le monde académique et les professions juridiques.
Les candidatures sont ouvertes jusqu’à la mi-septembre, pour un début des séminaires en octobre. Les candidats doivent être titulaires au minimum d’une Licence en droit (ou équivalent) et justifier d’un bon niveau d’anglais.
